On July 1, 2015 at 9:30 a.m., the Constitutional Court met to consider the case of Mr. Mongkol Surasak, President of the Senate, submitting a petition from 36 senators requesting a ruling according to Section 170, paragraph three of the Constitution, in conjunction with Section 82, whether the status of Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, has ended specifically according to Section 170, paragraph one (4) of the Constitution, in conjunction with Section 160 (4) and (5) or not.

and requesting the Constitutional Court to please order the accused to stop performing their duties until the Constitutional Court has made a decision in accordance with the Constitution, Section 82, paragraph two, the Organic Act on the Procedures of the Constitutional Court B.E. 2561, Section 71, and the Constitutional Court Regulations on the Procedures of Constitutional Cases B.E. 2562, Section 40 (8).
The Constitutional Court recently voted 9-0 to accept the petition for consideration and 7-2 to order Ms. Paethongtarn to stop performing her duties as Prime Minister until the Constitutional Court makes a decision.
